Sony Mobile Communications has officially strengthened its product portfolio in India with the launch of Xperia Ion. Announced originally at CES 2012, the new Sony Xperia Ion sports 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 4.6-inch 720p display and a 12.1 megapixel rear camera.
Commenting at the time of launch, Prasun Kumar, Marketing Head, Sony Mobile Communications stated - with Xperia Ion, Sony is bringing together a seamless experience across the multiple screens that users use to play, watch, listen, and share.
Xperia Ion is claimed as the gateway to HD entertainment which also has exclusive Airtel data offer to enhance the smartphone experience. It is reportedly said that the Airtel mobile customers will get 500MB of free 3G data per month for 3 months as well as 200 minutes of Mobile TV for a period of 2 months with the new Xperia Ion.
The new smartphone boasts some impressive specs and hardware. The Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine allows crisp images, without any jagged edges. With reduced light reflection, the picture stays clear at outdoors too.
