In reports: Indians spend 25 percent of their online time on social media

Analyzing the online activities of Indian users, it is found that 25.2 percent Indians spend their online time for accessing various social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc. if reports are to be believed, the 25.2 percent value is 0.8 percent more than that of the previous year’s value.

The latest report generated by comScore is based upon over 61 million Indian’s online activities, with age 15 and above.

According to the data found, over 57 million people have accessed the Internet (from their home or work computer) for accessing Google’s services, followed by Facebook with 50.9 million visitors in the month of June. Yahoo! and Microsoft are at third and fourth position with 65.5 percent and 48.1 percent usage time respectively.

It is found, the search giant Google had an astounding reach in India with 94.8 percent of India's online users visited Google or one of Google sites (like YouTube).

As far as the content of surfing is concerned, the report further revealed that people spend 10 percent time on entertainment sites, up 1.2 percentage points from the previous year and over 8.5 percent of total minutes for surfing portals.
