MAIT has announced the appointment of Anwar Shirpurwala as
its new Executive Director with effect from 16th October 2012. The announcement
was made by Dr Alok Bharadwaj, President, MAIT.
Anwar has taken over from
Sabyasachi Patra, who has
resigned from MAIT to pursue his passion of wildlife filming and Conservation
issues full time. He has founded IndiaWilds (www.indiawilds.com) - a
Conservation and online photography forum for strengthening the conservation
movement in the country. His film "A Call in the Rainforest" has been
nominated for Special Awards in Wildlife Vaasa Festival, Finland and has been
awarded the Vasundhara Award by Maharashtra Government.
Anwar comes with a diverse experience of 15 years in IT
Training, Sales & Marketing, Retail and Govt. Affairs. Welcoming Anwar, Dr
Alok Bharadwaj, President, MAIT said, "The vast experience that Anwar
brings to MAIT would help the Association in meeting the growing challenges
being faced by the IT Hardware industry in the highly competitive global
environment. I am confident that he will
add immense value towards augmenting and furthering the IT Hardware industry
ecosystem in the country."
