According to a latest update, Larry Page, Google Inc’s CEO and Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO have been conducting some secret conversations. If reports are to be believed, these biggies are discussing on a matter of intellectual property, including the ongoing mobile patent disputes between Apple and Samsung.
According to insider’s report, the two chief executives had a phone conversation last week.
Considering there is no official word to back up this story, it is rumored that Page and Cook are expected to talk again in the coming weeks.
It is important to note that Google and Apple are keeping the lines of communication open at a high level against Apple's victory over Samsung in a patent infringement case. Samsung is using Google's Android operating platform in its smartphones and tablets.
To rewind: The tech giant Apple initiated the battle in mid-April, 2011 when it accused Samsung for infringing on its intellectual property. After almost a year of scorched-earth litigation, a San Jose, California based jury has reached to a verdict that Samsung ripped off Apple’s innovative technology. Now, Samsung has to pay around $1.049 billion in damages to Apple and could face an outright sales ban on some of its key products.
Insider’s report further revealed that Page and Cook are discussing a broad settlement on various disputes between the two companies, most of which involve the rapidly increasing mobile computing era.
However, Apple and Google declined to comment on any discussions.
