The Association is undertaking a lot of developmental programmes for members as well as society
In its 16th Annual General Meet, the members of South Gujarat Information Technology (SITA) have elected its new team to lead the association for the year 2012-13. Around 90 to 100 members were present during the selection and unanimously elected Nilesh Desai as the President for the year ahead. Moments after the election, installation of the new team was conducted.
The new President has already taken up few issues like increased profitability of member Partners, to provide best services to customers and earning more from services. Moreover, SITA is also taking initiative to organise a workshop on Open Source Software to impart awareness to its members. Apart from issues related to members, concerns of society have inspired SITA to work for the welfare of the society in the past. This year as a part of its altruistic activities, the association has decided to donate computers to schools of distant districts. One of the selected towns for computer donation is Mandvi, a tribal area in Gujarat’s Tapi district.
Furthermore, SITA will also start training centres to spread computer education for the elderly people. The sole objective of this initiative is to connect them with their near and dear ones.
According to Nilesh Desai, the President elected for this season, “We are planning to take up a few initiatives for the first time on behalf of SITA for the welfare of both SITA members and also society as a whole.”
